PROPERTY TAX BILLS-HOW AND WHEN TO PAY

Property tax bills are mailed out ONCE  a year, usually in mid-July, and include four stubs covering four quarterly payments.  The bill mailed in July includes the third and fourth quarters of the current year and the preliminary first and second quarters of the next year.

Payments are due quarterly:  February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1.  Runnemede offers a ten (10) day grace period, the maximum allowed by state statute.  If the 10th day falls on a weekend or a borough holiday, the grace period is extended to the borough’s next business day.  Our mailing address is 24 N. Black Horse Pike.  We do not have a post office box and haven’t for quite some time.  DO NOT INCLUDE THE OLD POST OFFICE BOX NUMBER IN THE ADDRESS, the post office will not deliver your payment.

SEWER BILLS-HOW AND WHEN TO PAY

Local sewer bills are mailed out once a year in February and now will include two stubs covering two yearly payments.  Payments are due March 1 and September 1.   There is a ten day grace period.  If the 10th falls on a weekend or a borough holiday, the grace period is extended to the next regular business day.  Our mailing address is 24 N. YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION

If you are a citizen and resident (veteran) of New Jersey who was honorably discharged from active service in time of war in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States or the surviving spouse of the above, you may be eligible for a $250.00 property tax deduction.  Click here for application.

There is also a property tax exemption available, if qualified, for certain totally and permanently disabled war veterans and their unmarried surviving spouses/surviving civil union partners/surviving domestic partners as well as unmarried surviving spouses/surviving civil union partners/surviving domestic partners of servicepersons who died on wartime active duty.  Click here for application.

If you are a senior citizen, disabled person or surviving spouse of a senior citizen or disabled person and meet all of the eligibility requirements, you may be entitled to a $250.00 property tax deduction. Click here for the application.

TAX/SEWER/COURT/CONSTRUCTION PAYMENT OPTIONS

In addition to accepting electronic payments for tax & sewer bills through our website, the Borough of Runnemede offers the following payment options for your convenience:  Drop-Box available 24 hours, located in the wall next to the municipal building’s front door off of the new parking lot on the Black Horse Pike.  You may use the drop box for paying your tax and/or sewer bill, dog license fee, court fines and construction permit fees.  Payments placed in the drop box will be credited to the next business day If taxes are due by the 10th of the month and you put your payment in the box on the 10th, your account will accrue interest since the payment will not be posted until the next day.  NO CASH PAYMENTS ARE PERMITTED IN THE DROP BOX.

Payments for court fines are accepted online at www.njmcdirect.com.

Visits to the tax/sewer office are always welcome!  The offices are located directly on the Black Horse Pike.  Short on time?  You can always mail in your payments.  If you require a  receipt, please enclose the entire bill and a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.

If your property is in the tax sale for any charge or if there is a lien on your property, you will not be permitted to pay your tax and sewer on-line. Please contact the tax office directly for any delinquencies or liens (856-939-4437)  to obtain the correct payments to be made.  Payments for charges in the tax sale or in lien must be in the form of cash, certified check or money order.
