Winter 2008/2009

Dear Friends:

Holiday Greetings and Best Wishes for a joyous and healthy New Year!

We are very pleased on the progress of the revitalization of the Black Horse Pike and hope that you are too.  Phase I of this project is almost complete and it is anticipated that the antique lights will be installed by PSEG in January.  Phase II of the Revitalization Project will go out to bid late winter and should be completed by the beginning of summer.

This administration is committed to progressive, pro-active leadership and a balanced Annual Budget.  These are very difficult financial times and our Municipal Budget will be challenged and tested within the next few months.  To ensure that Runnemede remains a viable place to invest, our government will be evidenced based.

Street resurfacing/reconstruction projects for 2009 include Hartford Drive, Walter Avenue, Hirsch Avenue (3rd Ave. to Orchard) and Fayann Court.

Capital Improvement Projects:

          1. Black Horse Pike Revitalization, Phase I and II

          2. Senior Center Parking Lot

          3. Constitution Avenue Intersection Improvement

          4. Beaver Branch Park Improvements

Various funding sources include Transportation Enhancement (Tea 21), NJDOT Municipal Aid, NJDOT Discretionary Aid, Camden County Community Development Block Grant and Capital Improvement Bond.

The Infrastructure Trust Fund funds the pump station upgrades at Pump Station C and D and East Third Avenue Drainage Improvement Project.  This is a sampling of goals for 2009 and our commitment to invest in our community.

I look forward to working with Council, employees and volunteers and pledge to look out for the best interest of the Borough.  Enjoy this special time of year with your families and friends and remember to give yourself the best gift of all-your commitment to make wellness your priority in 2009.
